Should the ground tarp be larger or smaller than my tent?
By design, the Kodiak Canvas ground tarp is slightly smaller than the footprint of your tent. This prevents rain from catching on the edges of the tarp and "pooling" water underneath your tent floor.
Do I need to stake the ground tarp down?
No. You should not stake the tarp down when using it under your tent. Simply lay the tarp flat on level ground and place your tent on top; it is held in place by the weight of your tent.
Why don't the grommets line up with my tent corners?
The grommets are included for your convenience, should you choose to use the tarp for other purposes (such as a temporary sunshade). They are not intended to be used or aligned with the tent's staking points.
What if my tarp sticks out past the edge of the tent?
If any portion of the tarp extends beyond the tent floor, simply fold that edge underneath itself. This ensures that water flows directly onto the ground rather than getting trapped between the tarp and the tent.
