Cruise Control for your Grill or Smoker

Flame Boss® temperature controllers have the ability to control the temperature in your backyard charcoal grill or smoker so you can cook better food by serving it at the right temperature. Smoke meats and other items in your smoker precisely and repeatably while ensuring the perfect cook every time.

Flame Boss uses a variable speed blower unit that connects right into the air vent of your grill and runs at the optimal speed to reach and maintain the desired temperature of your smoker. A sudden temperature drop during a long cook can dramatically effect your end result, so Flame Boss created a solution to make those problems a thing of the past.

The high temperature meat probes and high temp pit probe communicates with the Flame Boss controller and tells the blower to adjust airflow accordingly to maintain your saved set temperature. Using wifi technology the Flame Boss unit connects to the mobile app on your phone so you can relax inside while the Flame Boss manages your pit outside.

Flame Boss 500

With the Flame Boss 500, you can set and forget anything you put in a kamado-style cooker, big green egg, drum and more. With Flame Boss, you can connect with your smart home devices like amazon alexa or google home and let them do the cooking for you. Beginner and Seasoned Pitmasters will love the ease of use of Flame Boss products. The Flame Boss 500-Wifi Smoker Controller Kit comes with a WiFi controller, variable speed blower, grill adapters, a high temperature meat probe, a high temperature pit probe, two probe cable organizers and a power supply.

If you're using a Kamado smoker, grab the FB500 Kamado Kit, for most other grill adaptors you'll use the FB500 Universal Kit.

Wifi Controller

The wi-fi smoker temperature controller has a 4 line backlit LCD display. There are 6 ports in the controller: power supply, one to connect to the blower, one for the pit probe and then there are three ports for the meat temperature probes. The Flame Boss 500 comes with one high temp meat probe but additional probes can be purchased separately. It has an incredibly handy mounting bracket that is magnetic so you can easily mount it if your grill has a metal side shelf, or you can screw it in for a more permanent solution using the pre-drilled holes.

Flame Boss 500 Kit

Probes

The Flame Boss Probes are a big part of what gives you your precise temperature control. The probes are 6 feet in length so you have plenty of distance between the inside of your grill and wherever you need to set the temperature controller. The Flame Boss 500 accommodates up to three meat probes so you can monitor more than one piece of meat at a time.

Remember the probes are NOT waterproof, so don't put them in the dishwasher.

Flame Boss Mobile App

You can monitor your BBQ pit temperature as well as the meat temperature during your long cooks all from the comfort of your couch with the Flame Boss mobile app. You can get a text message and notifications for any issues with temperature control so you can go to sleep, or keep watching the game knowing Flame Boss has it covered. Or you can check the online dashboard to check on the status of your cook.

There are a few different ways to connect to your Flame Boss. The first and most recommended is Cloud Connect. If both your phone and the controller have internet access, you can use cloud connect to allow you to view and manage any of your connected controllers, as well as view your cook history and cook notes. The second is local connect, which you can use if you are using a router without internet access. Or you can use direct connect, for those without a router. History and account pages are unavailable when using local or direct connect.
