Nature’s Generator and Nature’s Generator Elite are two of the most popular portable power pods (say that five times!) on the market. They offer some of the highest output for the lowest prices.
However, their capacities aren’t the highest at 720Wh and 1200Wh, respectively. It would make a lot more sense if you could combine them. Let’s talk about that.
The Nature’s Generator power pod and the Nature’s Generator Elite power pod are not directly compatible with each other. They can combine with another of the same power pod using a simple cable. However, you can connect the original Nature’s Generator with the Nature’s Generator Elite using a conversion kit.
First, make sure you are using the Nature’s Generator power pod conversion kit, which you can order with the system. These are specially designed for these systems, and normal cables will not work.
Once you have the right equipment, you will need to set them up correctly. To start, attach the gray adapter to the back of the black expansion pack. There will be a red and black cable on the other side, much like a car battery.
From there, attach the two cables that were already sticking out of the conversion kit to your Nature’s Generator Elite. Red to red, black to black. Again, like a car battery.
After this, you should see the expansion pack display the battery level of your Nature’s Generator Elite. Now, take the two longer cables (attached to the gray adapter), and attach them to the Nature’s Generator power pod, exactly as you did with the Elite.
When using them simultaneously, you can plug your MC4 cables into the front of the expansion pack to charge both systems at the same time. You can also use simultaneous output with the car charger on the expansion pack.
If you don’t have a car plug handy, you can plug your Nature’s Generator Elite directly into whatever you need to power. It should draw power from the other power pod with the proper connection.
Most importantly, pay attention to your connections. Black and red should never touch each other, and you should not touch the metal on these cables once they are plugged in. If you need to remove them, be careful to touch one cable at a time to avoid being electrocuted.
Generally speaking, we wouldn’t recommend using these together too often. This is only because it will discharge your Nature’s Generator faster than the Elite, which is harmful to the battery over time. If you do use these regularly, try to ensure that you have enough input to keep the power pod at 50% capacity or higher.
Now that you know how to combine the Nature’s Generator with the Nature’s Generator Elite, put them together to bring extra power with you wherever you go. They both have high output capacities, so adding this extra stored energy can make a world of difference!
