Nature’s Generator is one of the most popular brands in the solar generator industry, and for good reason. They make some of the most affordable options on the market, especially for their impressive output and convenient size!
However, if you have higher energy demands, then you may want to look for a better-suited model. If you don’t want to break the bank, then the Nature’s Generator Elite may be the way to go. Let’s see if it’s right for you!
Unless you’re running a CNC router for the entire 8-hour shift without breaks, you should have no problem running multiple power tools off of the Nature’s Generator Elite. As you can see in the infographic above, the original model should have no problem running a corded drill all day, but you may have trouble with larger machines. So, will the Elite model fill these necessary gaps?
Overall, yes. The Nature’s Generator Elite would be a wise investment for anybody relying on the extra power for work. If you find challenges with finding a power source while working outdoors, this model should have no trouble powering your tools for a full day’s work.
If you’re on a camping trip, then the Nature’s Generator alone should offer more than enough power unless you’re trying to power an entire RV for a week-long trip. In that case, you’d definitely need solar panels and/or wind turbines (you can also charge it with the RV while running) and you’d need to be careful with your energy consumption.
However, for a few LED lights, charging electronic devices, or powering a CPAP machine, the Nature’s Generator Elite will have no trouble for a couple of nights, even without solar panels. Essentially, it depends on your style of camping and your energy needs. For more information, you can read our full review of the two systems and see how they compare!
Let’s put it this way; if you want some outdoor power while living off the grid, then the Nature’s Generator Elite could give you more than enough power for some outdoor lights, speakers, or other basic electronics. However, it isn’t a reliable source of power for fully off-grid living, even with a spare battery. Even with maximum solar or wind input, it will take too long to charge, and it’s unlikely to cover your peak energy needs.
The same applies to home backup. The Elite model is much stronger than the original Nature’s Generator, but the battery is not strong enough to support an average household, which uses 28.9 kWh a day, whereas the system is only geared for 1.2 kWh.
The Nature’s Generator Elite is arguably the best-performing solar power generator for its price, especially if you need a lot of power on the go for work or travel. However, it does come up short for the heavy energy demand the average household poses.
