No. You must match the tonnage. A 36k air condenser requires a 36k indoor air handler. Mismatching components will lead to compressor failure and void the warranty.
What size line set does this unit requires?
This 3-ton unit uses a 3/8" Liquid Line and a 5/8" Suction Line. (Note: This is larger than the 1/4" x 1/2" lines used on the 18k/24k models).
What breaker size do I need?
This unit draws significantly more power than smaller models. It requires a dedicated circuit with a 35 Amp breaker and a Minimum Circuit Ampacity (MCA) of 33 Amps.
Is this compatible with the DIY series?
No. The Advantage Series is a standard split system requiring professional installation (flaring, vacuuming, charging). It is not compatible with MRCOOL DIY air handlers or pre-charged Quick Connect® line sets.
