By separating urine from solids, it significantly reduces odor and speeds up decomposition. The unit installs easily on the latrine platform, with an attached urine hose that diverts fluids away from the current holding area. It comes with a two-year warranty. The shipping box includes a template for the seat cut-out. If you plan to mount it directly over a bucket, ensure the bucket has a 14-inch diameter top. The folding seat of the 501 allows airflow through the seat into the latrine compartment, making it ideal for use with a fan-vented latrine.
